Column Data Statistics
Column Data Statistics lets you inspect column values directly in SSMS query result grids without exporting data to Excel. Statistics are calculated for each column and depend on its data type group: Numerical, Textual, Binary, Temporal, Other.
Immediate Column Data Statistics contain a subset of the full column data statistical properties.
They are calculated live for the selected result grid while selecting cells.

Full Column Data Statistics include total, null, non-null and distinct row counts, top 40 most and least frequent values for all columns. Additionally specific column groups contain:
The UI uses visual cues to better represent statistical information like median, average or most/least frequent values.
- Numerical columns: min, max, median, average and standard deviation of column values.
- Textual columns: min and max of column text values; min, max, median and average text lengths; min, max, median and average of word counts (split on whitespace only).
- Binary columns: min, max, median, and average of column data lengths, and min and max of column values.
- Temporal columns: min and max of column value.
- Other columns: min and max of column value.
